Stephen studied at The Royal College of Music in London and has a wealth of experience in all areas of the music industry including theatre, concerts, television and recording. He has been Musical Director and Musical Supervisor to an extensive range of both West End and touring theatre productions. These include Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Cats, Evita, Stepping Out, Bat Boy, Jesus Christ Superstar, Fiddler on the Roof, Pirates of Penzance, Barnum, My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. He has worked with some of the best musical performers to appear in the West End amongst whom are Topol, Michael Crawford, Paul Nicholas, Elaine Paige, Michael Ball & Bonnie Langford.
Stephen has conducted many varied concerts including The Magic Of The Musicals starring Marti Webb, Tell Me On A Sunday and The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with the RTE Concert Orchestra in Dublin, Jesus Christ Superstar – The Concert and numerous ‘Best of the West End’ concerts in the UK and Europe.
Stephen has been Musical Director to several international artists including Charles Aznavour, with whom he recorded several albums, and toured as his conductor and pianist in many of the most prestigious concert halls in North & South America and throughout Europe.
Stephen is also Managing Director of Musicians UK Ltd, one of the UK’s foremost Orchestral Management companies. London productions include Flashdance, Spamalot, Grease, The Sound Of Music, The Producers, Saturday Night Fever, Bat Boy and Stepping Out. UK tours include Flashdance, Cats, Starlight Express, The Sound Of Music, Grease, Les Miserables, Phantom Of The Opera, Miss Saigon, Beauty & The Beast, Singin’ In The Rain, West Side Story, Dr. Dolittle, Oliver, Evita, Black Goes With Everything, Jesus Christ Superstar, My Fair Lady, Fiddler On The Roof, Hello Dolly and The Pirates Of Penzance.
Stephen also works with many leading corporate and concert managements providing orchestras for such concerts as ‘Best Of The West End’, ‘Another Kind Of Magic’ – Queen Symphonic, Grease – The Concert, ‘An Evening Of James Bond’, Elaine Paige In Concert, ‘A Touch Of West End’ and ‘The Three Phantoms’.
Stephen works extensively in television and recently contracted the orchestra for The Royal Variety Performance at The London Palladium for the BBC.
